- Our organization works with partner companies to source qualified talent for their open roles. The following position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors and their Caregivers.

This role provides services in support of the advocacy, intervention, prevention, education and training to address domestic violence under the Army’s Family Advocacy Program (FAP). It supports the Army’s Victim Advocacy Program (VAP) which provides comprehensive services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, to assist and advocate for victims of domestic abuse and to ensure a victim’s easy transition to community resources.

Responsibilities

Provide crisis intervention and comprehensive services including emotional support, transportation arrangement, accompaniment to medical, legal and/or law enforcement appointments, and assistance with securing protective orders, emergency food and shelter, and information benefits.

Work directly with victims to advocate and present expressed needs to intervening agencies.

Assess imminent risks for health and/or safety of the victim and make referrals as appropriate.

Assist victims with navigating the system to obtain desired services and refer them for continued care.

Perform initial screening, non‑clinical risk and lethality assessment, and safety planning.

Develop safety plans, conduct lethality assessments and provide emotional support, crisis intervention, prevention awareness and education.

Liaise with the installation Family Advocacy Program Manager (FAPM) to coordinate victim services and community response.

Provide crisis intervention and warm hand‑off to community resources for victims not eligible for Military Treatment Facility services.

Advise victims on rights, services and resources available on and/or off the installation.

Coordinate with the FAPM to develop procedures for timely and appropriate information delivery.

Respond within 20 minutes via phone or 60 minutes face‑to‑face when requested.

Explain FAP disclosure and reporting options during initial contact.

Contact first responders immediately during crisis situations where imminent harm is present.

Operate within established guidelines of the FAP and the Victim Advocacy Program, AR 608‑18.

Conduct domestic abuse training and awareness programs for Soldiers, Family Members and Civilians.

Guide client families through investigative processes and help them understand their rights as victims of a crime.

Formulate intervention strategies to improve families’ coping skills during child abuse investigations and prosecutions.

Educate non‑offending caregivers about dynamics and long‑term consequences of child abuse.

Assist multidisciplinary team members in identifying client needs and providing recommendations.

Represent child and family interests at multidisciplinary team case review meetings.

Participate in community awareness, campaigns and prevention events.

Maintain ongoing case management with data entry completed within three business days.

Ensure daily contact with a victim while in crisis and at least every 30 days when not in crisis.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in social work, psychology, marriage, family and child counseling, counseling or behavior science, education, community health or public health.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with victims of domestic abuse/sexual assault or victim advocacy services.

Must be available to provide crisis intervention services 24/7.

Willingness to travel within a 50‑mile radius of the assigned work location.
