Thompson Palm Springs is recruiting an experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to join the hotel’s Engineering team.
Salary & Benefits This is an exempt (salaried) role. The budgeted salary range for this position is $68,640 to $96,400 and is eligible for quarterly earned incentives.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing and leading the engineering and maintenance team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure exceptional performance and development.
Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to set departmental goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of the hotel's physical assets, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other equipment.
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance and renovation projects, ensuring minimal disruption to guest services.
Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and systems.
Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to procure materials and services for maintenance and repairs.
Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure the safety of guests and staff during critical situations.
Qualifications
A minimum of 4 years’ building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
