Position Summary Our client is seeking a seasoned Income Tax Manager to lead its corporate tax function. This role is responsible for overseeing federal and state income tax compliance, planning, and reporting for corporate and partnership entities. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strategic insight, and leadership to ensure tax efficiency and regulatory compliance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Manage preparation and review of U.S. federal and state income tax returns (Forms 1120, 1065, 5471, 8858, 8865).
Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and state tax laws.
Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision calculations under U.S. GAAP.
Prepare tax footnotes for SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q).
Maintain audit‑ready documentation and support SOX compliance.
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
Analyze tax implications of business transactions, including M&A and intercompany arrangements.
Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the company’s tax obligations.
Collaborate with finance and legal teams on strategic initiatives.
Respond to tax notices and inquiries from federal and state authorities.
Support internal and external audits with documentation and analysis.
Identify and mitigate tax risks through proactive governance.
Mentor and guide junior tax staff.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA certification or progress toward CPA.
6+ years of experience in corporate income tax, preferably in a public company.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and enterprise tax software.
Strong understanding of U.S. tax law, including GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and foreign tax credits.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
Familiarity with international tax compliance and transfer pricing.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
