Client Technology SAP: Technology Presales Architect
Join EY as a Client Technology SAP: Technology Presales Architect and help clients shape their future with confidence.
Opportunity As an EY SAP Technology Presales, you will directly help EY & clients with highly efficient, optimized and precise pursuit proposals that leverage EY’s technology assets and capabilities to transform and manage their business.
Your Key Responsibilities
Harvest client requirements and translate them into solutions that meet the agreed objectives and principles.
Lead the technology aspect of pursuit teams, leveraging deep understanding of SAP-build technology and EY’s technology capabilities.
Shape solution and pursuit definitions, provide presales thought leadership and ascertain technical delivery possibilities and costs for critical business solution implementations.
Work with internal stakeholders—including Product Owners, Business Owners, EY SAP Delivery Teams and GDS—to envision, design and develop pursuit designs and responses around EY’s SAP delivery and technology capabilities.
Address identified technology gaps through established innovation and product capability channels.
Essential Functions of the Job
Presales / Pursuit Architecture & Solutioning for mid to large scale pursuits.
Provide thought leadership to pursuit / business teams during deal development, pursuit & close phases.
Have deep understanding of SAP Technology, EY’s SAP drivers, products, tools & processes to stitch the right solution that delivers value add for the client.
Establish Presales standards, guidelines and procedures to increase the success rate of client pursuits for EY overall (and the EY SAP alliance particularly).
Hands‑on creation of end‑to‑end solution architecture aligned with overall EA and IT roadmap of specific clients.
Shape RFP responses and bring in incisive insights from technology experience.
Provide objective analysis and actionable recommendations in the form of underpinned solutions.
Address identified technology gaps during a pursuit cycle with innovation and product teams and design innovative mitigation plans.
Identify ways to reduce costs and bring efficiencies through strong expertise and working knowledge of EY’s technical & business architecture.
Pro‑actively contribute to the Presales community and be an ambassador for good Architecture.
Maintain relationships with delivery/competence centre teams to ensure implemented solutions follow approved designs.
Collaborate with Technology Product Teams and influence product backlogs and priorities according to Presales / pursuit engagements.
Skills and Attributes for Success
Knowledge of industry solutions & products.
Strong tech background with experience in deal development, architecture & strategy or technology start‑ups.
Experience with large‑scale multi‑technology, data, analytics deals.
All‑round technical expertise – Applications, Infrastructure, Digital, Security.
Architecture experience across technical, data, application, integration.
RFP response & client proposal shaping.
Solution write‑up and client presentation expertise.
Excellent communication skills in English – written & spoken.
Business acumen with ability to develop strategic customer relationships.
Ability to identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Awareness of portfolio management principles, tools and techniques.
Organized, methodical, with a taste for detail.
Leadership, negotiating skills and ability to drive change through influence and networking.
Ideally, You’ll Also
Be an individual contributor who knows the art of influence without authority.
Have experience with offshore/onshore working models and diverse geographies and cultures.
Certifications and/or experience in Agile Delivery and DevOps desirable.
Architectural training/certifications like TOGAF or IASA desirable.
Knowledge of ITIL V3/V4 or service management frameworks advantageous.
Accept regular international and domestic travel.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
15+ years of technology, business development & thought leadership.
