Client Technology SAP: Technology Presales Architect
As an EY SAP Technology Presales Architect, you will directly help EY & clients with highly efficient, optimized, and precise pursuit proposals that leverage EY’s technology assets and capabilities to transform and manage their business.
Your Key Responsibilities
Client Interaction: Harvest requirements from the client and translate them into solutions that meet objectives and agreed principles. Lead the technology aspect of pursuit teams, acting as liaison among business partners, delivery leadership, and pursuit stakeholders.
Pursuit Shaping: Provide guidance for solution & pursuit definition, presales thought leadership, and ascertain technical delivery possibilities & costs for critical business solution implementations based on EY Technology products, tools, & processes.
Technology Presales Development: Work with Product Owners, Business Owners, EY SAP Delivery Teams, and GDS to envision, design, and develop pursuit responses. Address technology gaps through Innovation and product capabilities.
Essential Functions of the Job
Presales / Pursuit Architecture & Solutioning for mid to large scale pursuits
Thought leadership for Technology Presales during deal development, pursuit & close phases
Deep understanding of SAP Technology and EY’s SAP drivers, products, tools & processes to deliver value
Establish Presales standards, guidelines, and procedures to increase pursuit success rate
Hands‑on creation of end‑to‑end solution architecture aligned with client EA and IT Roadmap
Shape RFP responses and provide incisive insights from technology experience
Analyze and recommend actionable solutions with objective insight
Identify and mitigate technology gaps and risks during pursuit cycles
Understand impact of emerging technology and translate potential value to business and IT
Reduce costs and increase efficiencies through strong expertise and knowledge of EY’s technical & business architecture
Contribute to Presales community and mentor new Technology Presales Architects
Maintain relationship with delivery and competence centre teams to ensure implemented solutions follow approved designs throughout the application life cycle
Coach business owners and pursuit leads on technology presales throughout the pursuit lifecycle
Document pursuit / deal architecture and technology roadmaps using templates, tooling, and reference models
Identify, communicate, mitigate and resolve technology issues and risks; seek step‑out approval if necessary
Collaborate with Technology Product Teams, influencing product backlogs and priorities based on Presales findings
Skills And Attributes For Success
Knowledge of industry solutions / products
Strong technical background – experience in deal development, architecture & strategy or technology start‑ups
Experience on large‑scale, multi‑technology, data, and analytics deals
All‑round expertise across Applications, Infrastructure, Digital, Security
Technical/data/application/integration architecture experience
RFP response and client proposal shaping
Solution write‑up and client presentation skills
Excellent communication skills in English; ability to engage a global audience
Business acumen and ability to build strategic customer relationships
Proactive risk identification and mitigation strategy development
Awareness of portfolio management principles, tools, and techniques
Organized, methodical, and detail oriented
Leadership, negotiating skills, and ability to drive change using influence and networking
Ideally, you’ll also
Be an individual contributor comfortable influencing without authority
Have experience with offshore/onsite models and working across geographies and cultures
Hold certifications or experience in Agile Delivery and DevOps (desirable)
Have architectural training or certifications such as TOGAF or IASA (desirable)
Know service management frameworks, especially ITIL V3/V4 (added advantage)
Be willing to travel internationally and domestically
Hold a BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Bring 15+ years of technology, business development, and thought leadership experience
What We Offer You
Competitive base salary: $138,200 – $266,000 (US), with higher ranges for New York City, Washington State, and California. Total rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a range of paid time off options.
