Principal Engineer Supplier Quality

Manage supplier quality risks and implement systems to evaluate and control supplier quality. Ensure supplier processes and products meet contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements. Interface directly with supplier personnel to assess quality and manufacturing processes. Conduct product and process verification, monitor supplier quality performance, and lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues. Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and oversee the discrepancy reporting process. Keep management informed of supplier performance, quality status, and associated risks. Coordinate and oversee the implementation of supplier quality plans throughout all program phases. Participate in supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection during the business acquisition process and for new procurements on existing programs. Basic Qualifications

BS degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experience; or MS degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Experience with product/process validation per AS9102 (First Article Inspection) or similar processes. Experience implementing quality management systems such as ISO9001/AS9100 or equivalent. Proficiency in root‑cause analysis tools such as 5‑Whys and Fishbone diagrams. Experience with mechanical design requirements and specifications. U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain DoD security clearance. Extensive travel (75–95%) is required, often on short notice. Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering. Experience with APQP and PPAP processes. Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, forging, heat treating, welding, and brazing. Experience with FMEA, SIPOC, and other problem‑solving techniques. Leadership in process improvement projects, audits, NPI, and production readiness reviews. Primary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 – $136,800.00.
