Engineering Search Consultant | Connecting Top Engineering Talent with Leading Companies Nationwide | Randstad USA About the Role This is a hands‑on technical role focused on Programming, Commissioning, and Startup of PLC‑based automation systems. A typical project involves integrating Allen Bradley Logix PLCs, FANUC Robotics, and HMIs into a cohesive production system. While most of the design and debug work is done in‑house, travel (25‑30%) is required for final commissioning and startup at customer facilities. You will work closely with our mechanical and controls design teams to define control requirements and sequences of operation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Develop and write

PLC programs

to integrate multiple material handling devices and industrial robots.

Perform in‑house testing, debug, modification, and validation of all system functions prior to shipment.

Develop a complete set of

electrical design prints

utilizing

AutoCAD Electrical .

Specify and maintain I/O lists to coordinate between electrical design and program design.

Edit and interface

HMI programs

with PLC and robot functions.

Lead the

startup and commissioning

of the completed system at the customer site.

Provide thorough operational and program maintenance training to company and customer technicians.

Maintain electrical schematics throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

Expertise in PLC programming

with a focus on

Allen Bradley/Rockwell Logix Products

(Studio 5000, etc.).

Proven experience in the programming, installation, startup, and debugging of integrated production systems.

Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and editing

electrical schematics and diagrams .

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Ability to work independently at customer facilities during the commissioning phase.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

Willingness to travel 25‑30%

for site commissioning and support.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in

Electrical Engineering .

Three to five years of relevant experience.

Experience with

FANUC Robotics

or other industrial robots is a significant plus.

Experience with

AutoCAD LT

or AutoCAD Electrical.

Compensation

Pay Range:

Commensurate with experience (Salary Position).
