Field Service Engineer – Winding Join Baker Hughes as a Field Service Engineer – Winding in our new BRUSH Power Generation team. The role focuses on providing electrical and winding repair services to customers operating generators, motors and ancillary systems.

Responsibilities

Perform winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on generator HV windings at customer sites worldwide.

Provide basic mechanical strip‑down (and rebuild) of machines to gain access to generator windings and conduct electrical testing on high and low voltage windings.

Perform visual winding inspections of the stator, rotor and excitation system, and execute in‑situ generator winding repairs including stator re‑wedge work.

Work as part of a team for on‑site stator strip and rewind operations.

Assist mechanical service engineers on assignments that may not involve winding activities.

Supervise and train internal and external customers.

Interpret technical drawings, specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and detailed concise reports for customers; attend technical meetings on site.

Conduct an on‑site risk assessment for every assignment and record details on the required form.

Qualifications

Technical degree from an accredited school and 3+ years of field service experience.

Competency with basic hand tools, multimeters, megger, rigging, and generator special tooling.

Experience with air, hydrogen, and liquid‑cooled generators in 2‑pole and 4‑pole configurations.

Experience with generator high‑voltage testing such as PI, DC Leakage, and Hipot.Experience with generator rotor and stator robotic test equipment such as RoGIS, MAGIC, and MAGIC Jr. preferred.
