About The Role The Director, Business Development is a key function within the Strategic Services team, leading net‑new growth for the agency. The director will develop and manage the agency’s net‑new growth plan, follow up on leads, develop agency pitch and proposal decks, nurture prospect relationships, and collaborate with agency functional leaders to showcase the agency. The role also collaborates with WPP sales teams on network opportunities, employing a consultative sales approach in pursuit of loyalty, customer engagement, and data‑driven marketing for leading brands.
What You’ll Do
Develop agency credentials decks, pitch decks, and case studies to showcase agency expertise.
Nurture prospect leads that have opted into agency thought leadership communications.
Handle exploratory intake and capabilities meetings, evaluating opportunity fit for the agency.
Lead the agency’s responses for RFIs, proposals, and pitch presentations in collaboration with various practices and functions at The Ogilvy Group, LLC; successfully close (win) agency services.
Develop the agency’s net‑new growth plan, identifying target industries and strategies to increase market awareness and generate leads, in partnership with the thought leadership leader on the Strategic Services team.
Develop a deep understanding of The Ogilvy Group, LLC’s capabilities for consultative selling.
Manage the CRM system (Sugar or Salesforce) to track prospects, leads, wins, and losses.
Liaise with new business offices within Ogilvy and WPP on network opportunities.
Build mutually beneficial relationships with complementary technology and service providers.
Contribute to strategic services work for new clients as needed and when time permits.
What You’ll Need
Relevant experience in consultative sales, marketing strategy, agency growth management, loyalty, customer engagement, or data‑driven marketing.
Strong storytelling skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all materials that leave the agency.
Strong executive presence, earning the attention and respect of prospects at all levels.
Self‑starter with the desire to shape, manage, and grow the business development function.
Drive for success, achieving net‑new revenue goals through a strategic approach and persistence.
Effective problem‑solver who can manage time effectively and work independently.
Collaborative mindset, partnering with functional leaders across the agency and network.
Very strong proficiency in PowerPoint and/or Keynote and excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Pay Range $75,000—$180,000 USD (at the time of posting; compensation varies by location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications).
