About Masters Academy International Masters Academy International is New England’s only school that combines top-tier sports and academics to prepare future leaders who excel in athletics, academics, and life. At Masters Academy International, academics aren’t placed between training sessions—they are a vital part of developing an elite performer. We’ve created a curriculum that respects the demands of our athletes without sacrificing intellectual rigor. Students are challenged through engaging coursework, grounded in inquiry, which encourages healthy disagreement and debate and emphasizes quality over quantity.
MAI’s academic program aims to strike a balance between well‑being and learning for our student‑athletes, helping them develop not only knowledge but also the skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their education and nurture the critical and creative thinking skills required to understand and solve global challenges. As a result, our students graduate from MAI as critical thinkers, effective communicators, and confident learners prepared to excel in any field.
About the Role Deans at Masters Academy International are full‑time mentors responsible for the social‑emotional well‑being and academic success of their student‑athletes. Working closely with faculty and serving as a point of contact for parents, deans ensure that students are fully supported and appropriately challenged as they navigate the unique demands of balancing elite athletics with rigorous academics.
What You Will Do As a dean, you will serve as the primary advocate and mentor for a cohort of student‑athletes, supporting their academic progress and social‑emotional growth. You will host dean’s meetings, implement Personal Learning Plans (PLPs), and use Collaborative Problem Solving to help students overcome challenges. You will guide students in balancing rigorous athletic training with academic excellence, collaborate with teachers on Presentations of Learning, and act as a key partner to families through regular communication and conferences. You will work closely with faculty, coaches, and the Student Support Team to coordinate student support, contribute to program development, and engage in ongoing professional learning to strengthen both individual and team effectiveness.
Who You Are You are an experienced middle/high school counselor, advisor, or dean with expertise in adolescent development and a strong ability to build trusting relationships with students and families. You understand—or are eager to learn about—the unique demands on student‑athletes and can support them in developing balance and resilience. You bring a sense of ownership, humility, and collaboration, and demonstrate courage, integrity, and adaptability in a changing environment. Lifelong learning, innovation, and purposeful use of technology guide your approach to supporting student success and well‑being.
