About Masters Academy International Masters Academy International is New England’s only school that combines top‑tier sports and academics to prepare future leaders who excel in athletics, academics, and life. Academics aren’t placed between training sessions—they are a vital part of developing an elite performer. We’ve created a curriculum that respects the demands of our athletes without sacrificing intellectual rigor. Students are challenged through engaging coursework, grounded in inquiry, which encourages healthy disagreement and debate and emphasizes quality over quantity.
MAI’s academic program aims to strike a balance between well‑being and learning for our student‑athletes, helping them develop not only knowledge but also the skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their education and nurture the critical and creative thinking skills required to understand and solve global challenges. As a result, our students graduate from MAI as critical thinkers, effective communicators, and confident learners prepared to excel in any field.
The Opportunity The College Counseling Lead will collaborate with the Director of Student Wellbeing and the Deans team to design and implement programs that support student well‑being and effectively guide students through the college application process. The primary goal of the Deans team is to foster a sense of belonging by creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning community. The College Counseling Lead regularly meets with students to provide mentorship and strategic coaching and serves as a conduit among students, families, and MAI colleagues. By being responsive to student needs, the Lead promotes balance, well‑being, and a coordinated network of support.
Reporting to the Director of Student Wellbeing, the College Counseling Lead works in close partnership to align college counseling initiatives with broader student support structures, including Personal Learning Plans and holistic student development frameworks. Along with the Deans team, the Lead helps students realize their postsecondary goals and guides them on the best path toward college admissions or career readiness. The Lead provides resources on college options, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities; assists families and students in filtering and evaluating the best‑fit college choices; and offers guidance as students prepare to transition into their first year of postsecondary education.
