Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of accounting principles and practices, preparing financial statements, preparing tax returns, and bookkeeping. This position supports the ongoing operations of the firm and will work closely with the Partners.
Duties
Preparation of individual and business tax returns
Preparation of financial statements, compilations, and reviews
Perform bookkeeping functions such as general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for efficient financial management.
Communicate effectively with Partners on client workload and engagement status
Communicate effectively with clients to ensure engagement is completed accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; or equivalent experience in the field.
Current CPA license; or desire to become eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
2-4 years of experience; preferably in a public accounting setting.
Knowledge of tax and accounting software; CS Professional Suite and QuickBooks is a plus.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to manage workload and deadlines to complete all tasks efficiently and meet all deadlines.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to interact with other employees and clients effectively.
Detail and deadline oriented.
Motivated, self-starter.
