Role Overview The Manufacturing Controller will serve as a key financial leader for the company’s West Jefferson, OH manufacturing facility, responsible for managing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and driving process improvements that enhance accuracy, transparency, and scalability. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands‑on—able to balance leadership with detailed execution, build strong internal controls, and lead a high‑performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting operations, including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, cost accounting, and general ledger activities.

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

Lead month‑end close and financial reporting processes, identifying opportunities to shorten close timelines and improve procedures.

Prepare consolidated financial reports for submission to the global parent company.

Implement and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in partnership with operations and commercial teams.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in accounting systems and processes, optimizing ERP performance.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and financial reporting requirements, including transfer pricing documentation.

Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and a culture of accountability.

Support special projects, process improvement efforts, and technology initiatives to enhance financial efficiency and visibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

CPA certification preferred (active or inactive).

7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within a mid‑size manufacturing environment.

Manufacturing industry experience required.

Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles.

Proven ability to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency.

Experience managing small teams.
