Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated accounting professional to join a dynamic New York-based team in a hybrid Bookkeeper and Staff Accountant role. This position offers a broad scope of responsibilities, perfect for candidates who thrive on accuracy, organization, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate daily financial records including transaction entries and general ledger management.

Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are managed efficiently and payments tracked.

Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly, promptly resolving any discrepancies.

Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.

Prepare financial statements and assist with financial analysis to aid management decision‑making.

Assist with tax preparation, including support for filings such as sales tax, payroll tax, and 1099s.

Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial reporting processes and accuracy.

Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel functions to manage data efficiently.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting roles.

Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets; QuickBooks and Excel experience highly valued.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
