Special Requirements US Citizenship required to obtain government clearance Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science + 3 years of experience AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification counts toward 1 year of experience Experience designing interfaces for web-based applications Familiarity with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, Power BI integration) Background in federal government IT projects or secure environments Knowledge of integrating backend APIs and complex data into user-friendly designs The Gist As a UI/UX Designer at Amivero, you will work hand-in-hand with our team to design intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging interfaces for mission-critical government systems. You'll translate complex backend functionality-including AI-driven capabilities, into user-friendly, compliant designs that meet the needs of diverse federal users. Your role will be central to ensuring that our solutions are not only functional and secure, but also engaging, efficient, and inclusive for every end user.
What Your Day Might Include...
Collaborate with backend engineers to understand technical requirements, data flows, and AI/ML integrations, ensuring front-end designs work seamlessly with backend systems. Translate business requirements, user needs, and technical constraints into intuitive, high-quality designs. Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and visual assets using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch. Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs. Design accessible interfaces that comply with Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA and federal usability standards. Work closely with developers to ensure design accuracy during implementation and resolve UI/UX issues during testing. Develop and maintain design systems, pattern libraries, and style guides for consistency across products. Optimize workflows for both desktop and mobile environments in compliance with security and performance requirements. Integrate AI-driven features (such as intelligent search, adaptive interfaces, and chatbot interactions) into user flows with clear, intuitive design. Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle. Qualifications
US Citizenship required to obtain government clearance Bachelor's Degree in Design, HCI, or Computer Science field and 3+ years of UI/UX experience Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centered design, with experience on complex, data-driven applications Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and InVision Experience designing for web applications, responsive design, and accessibility compliance (508/WCAG) Understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate effective collaboration with developers Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to convey design rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience conducting user research and usability testing Ability to work in agile, iterative environments and manage multiple priorities
