Position Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies used in label printing production. This role ensures that all materials are received, stored, issued, and reported accurately in accordance with company procedures. This position supports daily production activities and plays a key role in minimizing material waste, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and maintaining data accuracy in the ERP system.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management
Monitor, track, and reconcile inventory of raw materials (paper, film, adhesives, inks, dies, cores, cartons, and labels). Perform daily and weekly cycle counts and participate in monthly physical inventory audits. Investigate and correct material discrepancies or transaction errors within the ERP system (e.g., LabelTraxx). Maintain material traceability through proper labeling, lot tracking, and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) usage. Ensure inventory records comply with company and California labor safety guidelines. Receiving & Material Handling
Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for correct quantities and quality standards. Label, store, and organize materials safely in designated warehouse areas. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks following safety and OSHA guidelines. Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality to resolve any receiving discrepancies or damage issues. Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or materials handling within a label printing or packaging facility. Knowledge of label manufacturing materials and printing processes preferred. Experience with ERP systems (LabelTraxx, SAP, or equivalent). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry accuracy. Forklift certification preferred or ability to become certified. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and follow California safety standards.
