Company in downtown Chicago is seeking an Accounting Manager/Controller Responsibilities: Maintain the existing company operating model Set up payments in Chase payments portal for accounts payable Manage all journal entry on Quickbooks, close books with oversight from Manager of Finance Assist with preparation of financial exhibits for investor communications, board communications, etc. Manage State price transparency reporting, ASP reporting, VA reporting, price increase reporting, etc. with external vendors Assist with preparation of tax filing Assist with preparation of the annual audit Manage expenses on Concur, and Motus and assist with PEO management Experience: ~2 years previous accounting manager/controller experience is strongly preferred 4-7 years progressive experiences in accounting Experience with inventory accounting, gross-to-net revenue analysis, accrual Pharmaceutical company experience is preferred but not required Some time at a CPA/accounting firm, could be Big 4, or mid-sized / regional firms is nice to have Some Tax experience is nice to have CPA designation is highly desired Skills: Quickbooks experience is preferred, but some experience with making entries / running books in an accounting software is required Sunshine act reporting experience is nice to have Concur experience is nice to have, some expense service experience is strongly preferred Some writing ability is nice to have to assist with putting together investor newsletters A strong grasp of GAAP and revenue recognition, particularly in pharma Managing external vendors (e.g., auditors, tax advisors, regulatory consultants, etc.) Other Stuff: This is an onsite position in downtown Chicago will some ability to work remotely Proactive and resourceful, takes initiative without waiting for direction Takes ownership over designated tasks and seeks to improve and perfect processes Company offers: Full competitive benefits Positive company culture Seniority level
