What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do We are looking for a leader and someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team as a Chef de Cuisine. This individual must have experience working in a high-volume professional kitchen and be a passionate, hands‑on leader in the kitchen. Candidates will have a proven track record of creating menus that reflect seasonal availability based on the restaurant’s concept, respond in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team, and enjoy being a teacher of the culinary arts supporting their team both personally and professionally.
The Chef de Cuisine will lead the planning and execution of the daily production, preparation, and presentation of all food for the restaurant in a safe, sanitary work environment that conforms to all standards and regulations and achieves profitable competitive quality products.
Your Role
You will serve as the “face” of the restaurant in the hotel and the community.
You will create, cost, and implement seasonal and special menus.
You will attract, retain, and mentor the best culinary talent.
You will complete the daily ordering using current par levels for the restaurant.
You will collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to exceed guest expectations.
You will train the restaurant’s culinary and operations team on the menu and daily specials.
You will conduct daily walk-throughs of the kitchen, make recommendations for corrections, repairs, cleanliness concerns, and improvements if needed.
You will conduct daily meetings with the team to ensure their preparation, communicating all pertinent information.
You will attend weekly F&B meetings, leadership meetings, and monthly safety meetings representing the culinary team.
You will set the example that the culinary team follows.
You will manage costs related to the restaurant, analyze, and control costs to achieve a profitable operation.
You will have thorough knowledge of food allergens and handle any guest with food allergies with a high sense of urgency.
You will work with the culinary team to ensure prep sheets are updated and properly used daily.
You will guide the nightly cleaning of all kitchen areas, following up with the stewarding crew to ensure the dish area is clean and organized for the following day’s service.
What Are We Looking For?
Someone passionate about developing a culinary team.
Someone with a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Someone with experience as a cook in a high-volume professional kitchen and strong leadership capacity.
Someone with full knowledge of the state’s health codes and eco‑sure food safety and health report.
Someone with an active Food Handler’s certification (a plus; property will provide training as needed).
Someone with strong organizational skills.
Someone who can work independently.
At least 21 years of age.
Someone who wants to exceed expectations.
Someone with an energetic personality.
Compensation CI$55,000.00
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
