Mechanical Commissioning Engineer / Project Manager (Data Centers)
We are an award‑winning international engineering firm with a dedicated Data Center Commissioning practice, serving top technology clients such as Microsoft, Google, Meta, and AWS.
Job Details Location:
Remote (Travel as needed) –
Salary:
$135,000 – $165,000 per year (Total Compensation $160K–$190K).
Employment Type:
Full‑time.
Seniority Level:
Mid‑Senior.
The successful candidate must be self‑motivated and well‑versed in Data Center projects, including large building MEP systems design, commissioning, retro‑commissioning, energy modeling/analysis, and construction for complex buildings. Responsibilities include:
Perform construction observations, review contract documents, develop functional test plans, and execute tests for mechanical and controls systems.
Execute retro‑commissioning engineering/energy studies and contribute to design and energy projects for national industrial, institutional, and commercial clients.
Assist in managing small to large Data Center projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
At least 4 years of specific Data Center Commissioning experience (Electrical/Mechanical).
Experience with project management – scheduling, coordination with staff & contractors, verifying field quality, accountability under pressure.
Technical mechanical expertise and ability to diagnose and solve construction and operational problems.
Experience managing design/energy services commissioning project resources to pre‑determined scope, fee, and schedule.
Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards such as ASHRAE, LEED.
Effective leadership and written/verbal communication skills.
Available to be on‑site ~60%–70%.
Experience managing staff.
Preferred, Not Required
Professional Engineering (PE), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), Building Commissioning Expert (BCxP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certification to Commit to (CCP), Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA).
