Employment type: Part time – 10.5 hours per week (0.3 FTE)
Duration: 2-year Fixed Term Contract
Remuneration: Level B from $127,947 + 17% superannuation and annual leave loading (pro‑rata)
Location: Kensington Campus, Sydney, New South Wales
About the Role As a Lecturer (EF), you will deliver engaging undergraduate and/or postgraduate classes, assess student learning, and provide tailored academic support. You will design innovative learning activities and resources, contribute to the development of experimental teaching approaches, and foster individual and cohort progression to enhance student outcomes. Your role includes managing course administration and quality assurance, maintaining professional development in pedagogy and discipline knowledge, and articulating a clear teaching philosophy that inspires learning.
UNSW’s Education‑Focused (EF) roles enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high‑quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialism will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
The Lecturer role reports to the Program Director, BMed/MD, with a dotted reporting line to the Phase 1 Convenors, and does not have direct reports.
Qualifications
A PhD in a related biomedical or medical discipline (preferred), and/or relevant work experience
Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline‑based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales)
Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work‑integrated learning (desirable)
Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development
Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives
