AWS DevOps Cloud Engineer – HID
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah. Job Id: 41229. Hire at HID, a technology company that builds secure identity solutions. As an AWS DevOps Cloud Engineer you will deploy and manage infrastructure in AWS and on‑premise data centers to support our PKIaaS platform.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, VPC, RDS, ECS, Lambda, S3) using Terraform.
Create and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
Automate infrastructure provisioning with IaC tools such as Terraform, Pulumi or AWS CloudFormation.
Monitor system performance, availability and reliability with CloudWatch, Prometheus or Grafana.
Maintain containerized environments using Docker and orchestration platforms (ECS/EKS, Rancher, Kubernetes).
Implement security best practices – IAM policies, secrets management, audit logging.
Collaborate with developers to optimise application performance and ensure consistent deployments.
Participate in on‑call rotations and troubleshoot production incidents.
Contribute to disaster‑recovery planning, backups and fail‑over procedures.
Write clear documentation for infrastructure, deployment workflows and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (equivalent education and experience acceptable).
4+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
4+ years of hands‑on AWS experience (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS).
AWS Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect certification (or higher) preferred.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and sprint‑based deployments.
Proficiency in scripting languages (TypeScript, Node, Python, Bash, Go).
Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation or CDK.
Familiarity with Docker and orchestration platforms.
Solid understanding of networking, load balancing and DNS in cloud.
Exposure to monitoring, logging and alerting systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with PKI, TLS/SSL or related technologies is a plus.
