Apex Systems, a world‑class technology solutions provider, is looking for a Business Analyst to join a contract team in Charlotte, NC. The role will focus on backlog management, Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies, and delivery of banking applications for a financial center release train. Only direct W‑2 candidates will be considered.

Position Summary

The Business Analyst/Product Owner will lead ART backlog activities, coordinate ART ceremonies, manage dependencies, and provide status updates to stakeholders. The role supports an Agile development team of 8‑10 engineers focused on quarterly releases and monthly enhancements.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and facilitate ART ceremonies including backlog refinement, PI planning, ART sync (or PO sync), system demos, and retrospectives. Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager to maintain a healthy program backlog and ensure alignment with program objectives. Facilitate dependency, risk, and impediment management for the ART. Promote communication and collaboration within the ART to support PI commitments. Provide status updates, reporting, and delivery timelines to stakeholders and leadership. Ensure Enterprise Change Management and other policy requirements are met for delivered epics/features. Measure ART delivery performance, review metrics, and identify improvement opportunities. Capture data to support product funding and resource acquisition needs. Support overall JIRA reporting and team Confluence management.

Job Duties

Capture and support delivery of business and system requirements to accomplish business goals. Translate business requirements to technical solutions between stakeholders. Decompose epics into user stories, define acceptance criteria, prioritize backlog, and refine with the team. Ensure user stories meet Definition of Ready and Definition of Done. Use process flow diagrams, context diagrams, and use cases to assist story creation. Collaborate with Product Managers, stakeholders, and peer Delivery Leads to align work. Remove impediments and participate in team and train routines. Support deployment activities and ensure quality standards are met. Maximize value delivered by the team and support production validation.

Candidate Requirements

1+ year of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner. Experience gathering and documenting requirements. Previous banking experience highly preferred. Experience/knowledge of Agile methods. Experience using JIRA. Release experience preferred.

Contract Details

12‑18 month contract, W2 contract, paid hourly. Pay Rate Range: W2 $30‑32/hr
