Position Description STA Launch Engineer*** The Supply Chain team in Chicago, Illinois adds critical value to the entire organization.

You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on‑time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.

In this Position

Implement commodity‑specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery

Lead cross‑functional decisions with Ford & Supplier leadership to drive resolution of open issues

Implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliers

Principal for on‑site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations

Lead adherence to Ford standards (i.e., Q1)

Drive assessment & validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites

Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP)

Use available data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions ensuring improved future quality

Implement commodity‑specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery

Lead on‑site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations

Skills Required

Quality Management, Problem Solving, APQP, PPAP processes

Ability to develop and present materials to leadership on short notice

Ability to lead resolution of manufacturing, quality, and/or capacity issues on‑site with suppliers

Experience Required 5+ years’ experience in one or more but not limited to the following manufacturing process: Casting, Machining, Forging, Stamping, Welding, Plastic/Rubber Molding, Brazing, Sintering, Automated/Manual Assembly Processes, Controls Automation programming, Paint, Chroming, SMC.

Experience Preferred Manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations experience

Education Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical / manufacturing aptitude

Education Preferred Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Additional Information STA Launch Engineers Ability to travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico approximately 75% of the time
