Accounting Manager – Stamford, CT
Full-Time | Onsite | $105,000–$125,000 + Bonus
Position Overview The
Accounting Manager
will oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including financial reporting, month‑end close, budgeting, and team supervision. This individual will ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards while driving process improvements and supporting business objectives. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and motivated by continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation and reporting
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and performance metrics
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and accountability
Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes and ensure timely completion
Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary audit documentation
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial procedures
Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, reporting tools, and system efficiency
Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Experience with financial systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Detail‑oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Knowledge of tax and regulatory compliance
