The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha offers an array of activities designed to meet the unique interests and needs of young people throughout the Kenosha community. Employees at the Club exhibit passion and commitment that helps our community thrive.

The Director of Outreach Prevention & Schools directs and manages diversion activities in Kenosha Unified School District Schools, in the community and the Boys & Girls Club. The case manages youth, per objectives of grantors and support the Boys & Girls Club staff in the Teen Center and in other areas as needed.

Title: Director of Outreach Prevention & Schools Reports To: Director of Operations Position Responsibilities:

Complete intake assessment and complete file on all case managed youth, gathering all information necessary.

Ensure confidentiality.

Complete all required grant data tracking and all reports for grant reporting.

Meet with case managed youth at school, Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha or their home and meet with families through home visits

Conduct Street SMARTS, SMART moves programming at Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha and at schools for groups.

Commit to two evenings a week in teen center to provide prevention programming and support teen center staff.

Coordinate diversion activities; mentoring, workshops, and other incentive-based activities including sports opportunities for case managed youth.

Mange all aspects of the summer park program including hiring, supervising, program planning, reporting.

Develop and Maintain partnerships with parents, community leaders, and community-based organizations.

Lead leadership sessions for collaborative partners.

Network with parents, school, juvenile justice, and other agencies.

Give parents information or plan at least one family activity monthly.

Attend the Gang Task force meetings.

Report to gang prevention committee.

Attend required BGCK, Kenosha County and KUSD trainings and meetings.

Manage or participate in special BGCK programs, events.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in social work or related field.

A minimum of five years’ experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.

Knowledge of and experience using proven gang prevention strategies.

Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group/family dynamics.

Ability to effectively operate a computer and programs used by the Club.

Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Ability to deal effectively with members, including discipline problems.

Demonstrated ability working with youth, parents, and community leaders.

Driver’s License, safe driving record, personal liability insurance (100,000/300,000), and insurability with BGCK insurance carrier required. Ability to drive Club vehicle when needed.
