Location: Remote
Purpose of Position Little Priest Tribal College seeks an adjunct to teach one section of POLS1000 American Government course during the Spring 2026 semester. POLS1000 is a study of the functioning of the American political and governmental systems through an analysis and application of its underlying theories. This course is adopted from the Nebraska Transfer Initiative and the syllabus can be found online here: POLS1000 American Government
Adjunct faculty positions are part‑time contract appointments for $750/credit hour, are not eligible for benefits, and are hired on an as‑need basis per student enrollment. Adjunct applicant pools are reviewed by the VP of Academic Affairs and contracted as needed.
Qualifications Master’s degree in political science or a master’s degree with at least 18 credit hours in political science courses from a regionally accredited college or university.
Must have a Nebraska State Teaching Certificate or Postsecondary Teaching Permit or be willing to obtain.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities Instructional experience, preferably in a tribal community college setting.
Experience using technology in the classroom, including virtual, VTC, and online (asynchronous and/or synchronous formats).
Documented training and/or experience using Learning Management Systems, preferably Canvas.
Cultural competence in serving Indigenous students and/or other minoritized populations.
Condition of Employment Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
Must pass a pre‑employment criminal background screen.
Must be able to pass a drug screening.
