Locums - Plattsburgh, New York Anesthesiologist Job Position Overview

  • Trauma Level: III (ACS Verified)
  • Type: Full-time Locums or at least 2 weeks per month
  • Duration: Ongoing until permanent replacements are secured
Schedule & Call
  • Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
  • Call: Required (must live/stay within 15 minutes of facility)
  • Coverage Needed: Full-time or minimum 2 weeks/month
Clinical Details
  • Work Setting: 100% OR and L&D (no clinic)
  • Average Case Volume: 4-5 cases per day
  • OB Deliveries: 700-800 per year
  • Operating Rooms: 9 total (modernized within 18 years)
  • Patient Population: Adults; healthy pediatrics only (no high-risk peds)
  • EMR: Epic
  • Team Environment: Collegial, multi-disciplinary OR team
  • Group Size: 15 MDs (including per diems)
  • Support Staff: 2 CRNAs, anesthesia techs, nurses, OR techs, directors, managers
  • Supervision: Rare CRNA supervision; no AAs in practice
Required Procedures
  • All bread-and-butter surgical anesthesia cases
  • OB anesthesia including labor epidurals and unscheduled C-sections (must be experienced)
  • Regional blocks for OR cases
  • No CT, neuro, or cranial cases
Preferred but Not Required Procedures
  • OB/GYN, orthopedic, general surgery, plastic, vascular, colorectal, ENT, GI, and urology cases
  • Comfortable with healthy pediatric cases
Licenses & Certifications
  • Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Licensure: New York medical license required
  • Certifications: ACLS and MMR required
  • Fellowship: Not required
  • Experience: Must have documented OB anesthesia experience
