Overview
Goldberg Segalla LLP, a national law firm with more than 23 offices in 11 states, seeks a highly motivated and organized Paralegal to support litigators who have a high volume of work at our Orlando, FL location. The position requires the ability to multitask effectively and balance working on multiple requests and projects daily. Knowledge of law firm practices and a general understanding of litigation and billable tasks are required. Responsibilities include maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involved in the cases, and related duties. This position is eligible to have a hybrid schedule after training and orientation are completed in the office.

Proficiency in using computers for legal research and other legal tasks. Familiarity with software (e.g., Microsoft Suite) for organizing and maintaining legal documents. Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to develop good relationships with clients and professionals, making clients comfortable sharing personal case information. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision. Organizational Skills:
Capable of managing multiple cases in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines. Excellent organizational skills are essential. Research Skills:
Strong research and investigative skills for conducting legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and articles.
Target Billable Hours
100 hours per month
Essential Job Functions
Knowledge of e-filing for discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Outlook, TEAMS, Calendar, and Excel. Familiarity with legal documents and terminology. Investigative skills for case facts. Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and articles. Organize and maintain documents in physical files and the firm's document management software. Gather, maintain, and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Write reports to assist attorneys in trial preparation, as directed by the attorney. Assist lawyers during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts. Process authorizations. Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements for court use. Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, maintain confidentiality, and professionalism in all interactions. File exhibits, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel after attorney review and approval. Schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions with clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors as per client guidelines. Collaborate with both attorneys and legal assistants on non-billable tasks, supporting case management as needed. Daily management of billable timekeeping entries in the firm’s software program. Documentation of approvals as it relates to firm and client guidelines. Review challenges and write-offs when presented by attorneys; collaborate with Client Revenue on providing necessary information regarding client appeals. Key point of contact for clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear and effective communication. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Bachelor\'s degree, Associate\'s degree preferred, certificate in paralegal studies, or 3+ years of paralegal experience. Clear communication and information exchange in English. Certified Notary a plus. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to observe and assess data and documents in printed form and on computer screens. Willingness to work beyond normal hours. Team-oriented with the ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision. Ability to respond and maintain confidentiality of information or adversarial inquiries.
