Overview Under specific direction, safely and efficiently place equipment, set up seating, buffet, cabaret, and/or banquet tables to match client or supervisor requests. In support of events, clean and maintain the performance and presentation spaces before, during, and after events.
Responsibilities
Sweep, mop, and vacuum
Wipe down surfaces
Empty trash and replace liners
Restock restrooms
Receive, unload and reload deliveries of items and equipment from semi/box trucks as necessary
Provide courteous and expeditious customer service for patrons and clients
Comport themselves in a professional manner in keeping with the core values of the University of Missouri Saint Louis and the Touhill Performing Arts Center
Shovel snow from entryways or treat areas under certain circumstances
Hiring Department Performing Arts Operations
Supervision and Work Environment What the role entails: Works under general supervision and within procedures and guidelines. Supervisors will train employees in specific areas of production as needed to support the client’s needs and the professional development of the employee.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and some work experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to transport objects weighing up to 60 pounds
Ability to work long and unusual hours, including late at night
Willingness to work hard and take direction
Experience in event or theatrical setup and production (any area of emphasis)
Good communication skills and customer service experience
Employment Details Shift: Variable depending on event needs
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $18.00 per hour
Grade: GGS-005
