Early Childhood Special Ed Case Manager/IEP Team Administrator (Waterville, ME)
Salary Range: $25.53 - $44.26 per hour.
Position Overview This 40‑hour per week hybrid/remote position at CDS PEDS site in Waterville, ME involves working with preschool children ages 3‑5 with disabilities. The Case Manager/IEP Team Administrator commits agency funds to facilitate IEP development and transition for children and families, ensuring compliance with IDEA 2004 and Maine regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain effective rapport with parents and families.
Communicate program information and provide accurate explanations of screening/assessment results.
Coordinate the Child Find process and provide procedural safeguards information.
Conduct observations in the least restrictive environment and review developmental histories.
Facilitate IEP development, review, and evaluation, ensuring parent participation and comprehensive IEP documentation.
Assist with transition planning from preschool to public school services.
Ensure access to early intervention and FAPE services, and maintain thorough documentation.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Site Director.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Child Development, Early Education, or related field.
Successful background, criminal record check, fingerprinting, and reference verification.
Valid Department of Education certificate for one of the following: Administrator of Special Education, Assistant Special Education Director, School Psychological Services Provider, Teacher of Students with Disabilities, Teacher-Severe Impairments, Teacher-Visual Impairments, Teacher-Hearing Impairments, Speech and Language Clinician.
Working knowledge of child development, disabilities, family systems, and special education methods.
Knowledge of FAPE services and state payment systems for eligible children ages 3‑5.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ability to travel to various locations as needed.
