Position Summary The Inventory Specialist is responsible for reconciliation of cycle counts, maintaining balanced and accurate inventory and assisting with the improvement of the flow of material between suppliers, warehouse, distribution sites and subsidiaries.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare and reconcile all daily cycle count discrepancies and prepare reports within time frame.
Monitor all inventory issues and ensure effective resolution for all.
Participate in process improvement to improve material flow within the warehouse.
Monitor and analyze inventory plan versus actual.
Identify and manage the min/max levels of material.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure level loading of incoming freight for receiving.
Observe and report on storage accuracy and receiving accuracy.
Internal and external shortages and overages, i.e., material, supplier.
Coordination of items to be returned to the supplier.
Monitor and communicate inventory turns monthly to team.
Assist with disposition actions of slow moving and obsolete material.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Review and provide input on inventory flow.
Investigate any supplier shortages and overages.
Support the departmental goals.
Additional projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business related field or an associate’s degree with two years of supply chain experience or four years of supply chain experience.
Two to three years of experience with MRP/ERP business systems, inventory management, warehouse concepts and/or cycle counting.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of the company and suppliers.
Ability to resolve conflicts, solve problems and pay attention to detail.
Ability to create and update metrics.
Understanding of material flow process.
Intermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet, and ERP software.
