Overview
Maintenance Manager at The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality. Responsible for supervising day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring tasks are completed, coordinating with suppliers and vendors, and leading the Engineering Department to support guest experiences and property maintenance. Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day operations of Engineering; ensure tasks are completed or handed to the next shift engineer and verify teams have the help and supplies to complete tasks. Contribute to repairing and maintenance of the physical infrastructure, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems. Own projects with a can-do attitude; demonstrate teamwork within and across departments. Lead the Engineering Department daily stand-up, participate in manager meetings, assign tasks, and provide continuous support and communication; be on call for maintenance questions or emergencies (24 hours). Direct and assist workers and vendors in maintenance and repairs of the property. Manage administrative daily tasks (examples include PurpleCloud, Workday, WorkRecords, Craftable, Hotel Effectiveness) and schedule adherence. Coordinate with third-party vendors for quotes and service agreements; schedule and oversee work. Monitor timeliness and quality of repairs in the system, update affected departments with status. Ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications by studying work schedules and estimating work hours. Schedule engineering staff for routine maintenance across painting, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC. Respond to emergencies during and after hours as needed. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to minimize downtime and guest impact. Record and retain equipment and utility meter readings weekly; maintain safety data sheets and train engineers in emergency procedures. Work within departmental expense plans and budgets; identify health and safety hazards and conduct safety training; ensure compliance with government safety and environmental regulations. Supervise contractor activities during and after repairs and follow up for additional work as necessary. Provide building security, respond to emergencies, and assist in evacuations if needed. Assist in planning, scheduling, completing, and evaluating preventive maintenance programs. Identify external service needs (e.g., walkways, painting, repairs, renovations, equipment replacements), seek proposals, and submit to the Director of Engineering. Operate snow removal equipment and methods (snowplow, sanding truck, ice mitigation, sidewalks, and related tasks). Select and order purchases for new equipment, parts, supplies, and other materials to maintain the resort. Attract, retain, motivate, train, empower, and build a culture of teamwork across all departments. Perform additional duties as directed by leadership. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Four years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry. Ability to read and interpret blueprints related to the field. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Ability to operate snow mitigation vehicles. Certified pool operator preferred. Vocational or technical training experience preferred. Ability to work holidays, evenings, days, and/or weekends. Compensation
The compensation for this position is $60,000.00/Yr. - $70,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience. Location
