Joining us as a Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll be the front-line manager, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives, while developing knowledge on tax topics and products for associates. What you’ll bring to the team includes partnering with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, assisting in recruiting, and serving as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns. It would be even better if you also had multi-unit people management experience and 2+ years as a Tax Professional, as described below under Qualifications. We’re looking for someone who is curious, creative, and ready to make a meaningful difference where you live, work, and play.

Responsibilities

Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.

Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions.

Serve as point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns.

Ensure clients are scheduled properly and conflicts are resolved.

Lead daily activities to ensure all tax office associates complete work on time, with attention to quality standards, priorities, and goals.

Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to meet Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.

Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.

Create associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.

Prepare tax returns, as required.

Conduct timely performance reviews and coordinate with Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.

Qualifications

Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role.

Experience supervising or managing people.

Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).

Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.

Computer proficiency with MS Office.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Customer-centric mindset, is passionate, determined, and resilient.

Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to business needs.

High school diploma or equivalent or higher.

Pay Range The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $65.00 per hour. Local minimum wage laws apply. Pay decisions depend on factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and location. Eligible associates may participate in incentive plans and benefits, including medical and retirement programs.
