US Foods . This application is only available to active-duty service members eligible to participate in a DoD SkillBridge Internship. The service member must be within the last 12 months of their active-duty contract. This is an unpaid, non-benefit eligible internship position in partnership with the DoD SkillBridge program. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Lead with a safety mindset to ensure injury-free interactions with associates, customers, and the public. Promote safety procedures and training to maintain a safety-first culture. Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching, training, and performance discussions. Ensure all team members are trained in safety, legal responsibilities, and job duties. Create an environment that encourages communication and motivates staff to meet department goals. Manage the work and productivity of drivers and clerical staff. Drive engagement, retention, and embody US Foods values. Participate in hiring, review performance, coach, and discipline as needed. Monitor production goals, ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction, and troubleshoot delivery issues. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Identify waste, improve processes for safety and efficiency, and conduct routine safety meetings. Oversee maintenance of driver qualification files and investigate accidents to implement preventative measures. Schedule shifts using planning tools and perform other duties as assigned. Supervision

Direct supervision of union and/or non-union drivers. Relationships

Collaborate with internal teams (Transportation, Warehouse, Sales) and external customers. Work Environment

Primarily on the road and in trucks, with time spent in an office. Exposed to noise and vibration levels. Minimum Qualifications

At least 3 years in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution. At least 1 year overseeing a workforce. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Broad knowledge of transportation operations, leadership skills, understanding of DOT and regulatory requirements, data interpretation, and basic computer skills. Travel

Approximately 10% for meetings and training. Education/Training

High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Physical Qualifications

Must perform activities like driving, pushing/pulling, climbing, grasping, manipulating objects, and manual dexterity for specified durations. Expected salary ranges from $55,000 to $90,000, depending on experience and location. This position is full-time, management level, in the food and beverage industry, based in St. Louis, MO.
