Overview

The Nature Conservancy is seeking an Associate Director of Development II (IC) based in Dallas, TX. The role works with the development team to plan, implement, and coordinate multi‑year strategies and plans for Dallas area gift prospects, focused on individual giving with potential involvement of corporate and foundation giving. You will join a high‑performing fundraising team of 10+ professionals covering major and principal gifts, foundations and corporations, loyal donors, and estate planning in Texas, with annual fundraising results in excess of $16 million. Although this is a Texas Chapter position, you will collaborate with colleagues in the Great Plains Division, across all 50 states and 70+ countries to implement donor‑driven strategies that maximize overall giving to The Nature Conservancy. Responsibilities

Build and manage a portfolio of 60–90 qualified donors, including donors with the capacity to give over $250,000, as the portfolio is developed, and develop strong relationships. Conduct 60–90 donor visits per year and prepare contact reports; manage 180–270 moves annually; maintain an annual fundraising goal of $1.5M or more, including bequest commitments. Prospect development, qualification, and direct asks aligned with global and local priorities to meet funding needs; discuss assets and opportunities for gifts of assets or other non‑cash gifts (e.g., planned gifts, land trades). Provide opportunities for donor recognition and increased future giving; engage field and Worldwide Office partners, address questions as needed, and confidently discuss legacy giving opportunities. Understand project budgets and may develop proposal budgets; build and maintain a referral network and may manage formal or informal volunteer networks; use the Conservancy’s donor database and may develop proposals. Travel within Texas for donor meetings with occasional travel outside the state for trainings; work overtime as needed; comply with Conservancy gift‑related policies and ethical standards. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years related experience or equivalent combination. Experience building and maintaining long‑term relationships with fundraising constituents. Experience asking for and closing gifts of $50,000 or more, including planned gifts. Experience managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors; experience working with cross‑functional teams; familiarity with fundraising principles and practices. Desirable Qualifications

Experience cultivating and stewarding a pipeline of new donors and building donor‑specific strategies. Experience in fundraising strategy development focusing on identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors. Experience with Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Blackbaud, Raiser’s Edge). Salary Information

The starting pay range for this position is generally in the range of $90,000 – $115,000. This range applies to USA employment; actual pay depends on location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
