As a Team Leader, you’ll lead a customer-centric team of associates and help accelerate our seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll be the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives. You’ll also serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates. What you’ll do is to inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, and build client relationships that strengthen each year. Responsibilities
Provide leadership and development of tax office associates; deliver an outstanding client experience; achieve office growth objectives. Lead daily activities to ensure all tax office associates complete work according to deadlines and quality standards. Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to execute on Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions. Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates. Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping, and manage overtime. Prepare tax returns as required and serve as a point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns. Partner with leadership to develop and implement office-level growth plans, including local partnerships and community involvement. Recruit and interview candidates for tax office positions; assist with candidate selection. Conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns in collaboration with appropriate resources. Your Expertise
Experience in customer service, shift leadership, or similar roles; experience supervising or managing people. Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns); annual continuing education to meet IRS/state requirements. Proficient with MS Office; able to work independently with minimal supervision. Customer-centric mindset with resilience and adaptability; ability to work flexible schedules based on business needs.
