This position is based in Syracuse, NY. Responsibilities
The Data Governance Coordinator will contribute to the expansion of Upstate's data governance program and its initiatives, including implementing and maintaining a data catalog, enhancing data quality and reporting content certification processes, and collaborating with developers and business users to improve data accessibility and value. Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, IRB) and determine permissions for access to sensitive information. Create and manage project plans, facilitate workgroup and committee meetings, implement software solutions, develop governance-related documentation, monitor policy adherence, identify process improvements, and promote data governance practices across the Upstate community. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in data management, information systems, analytics and/or project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in data management, information systems, analytics and/or project management. Data governance experience, preferably in a higher education and/or healthcare setting. Experience with data catalog implementation and/or project management. Clear and concise writing skills with the ability to facilitate meetings among multidisciplinary groups. Details
