Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair of production equipment (e.g., injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers). Performs troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis and other water filtration equipment; general plant maintenance. Collaborates with machine Operators, Supervisors, Preventative Maintenance Mechanics, and Sr. Maintenance Technicians to resolve issues; proposes solutions to complex and recurring problems to Sr. Mechanics and Management. Essential Functions
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, drawings, and testing equipment. Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other facility equipment. Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment per Niagara’s processes. Maintain industrial control systems; work independently and with others to complete repairs safely and timely. May fill in for production operator as needed. Create and report repairs, complete work order paperwork, and document parts and material usage. Understand and follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation. Use Personal Protective Equipment as required. Maintain regular and predictable attendance as an essential function. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: 4 years – experience in field or similar maintenance environment 4 years – experience in the position 4 years – experience managing people/projects Experience may include a combination of work experience and education Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics Preferred Qualifications: 6 years – experience in field or similar manufacturing environment 6 years – experience working in position 6 years – experience managing people/projects Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries Experience with technologies: VFDs/servos, rotary equipment, thermodynamics/heating, Krones/Sidel/Husky equipment, HVAC, chillers/air compressors Reading and interpreting process and instrumentation diagrams Fabrication skills (cutting/welding); electrical systems 480VAC & 24VDC; repair of VFDs, servo motors, controllers, and communication systems Education
Minimum: High School Diploma Preferred: Associate’s Degree in manufacturing or related field Certifications/Licenses
