Job Description
Overview
We’re hiring a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead a 2nd-shift maintenance team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The Supervisor will oversee both production line maintenance and building utility systems, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
You’ll lead a team of maintenance technicians, troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems, and coordinate repairs and PMs across a wide range of plant equipment—including packaging, processing, refrigeration, and utility systems.
Responsibilities Lead, train, and motivate a 2nd-shift maintenance crew supporting production and facility operations.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
Manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
Maintain and repair utility systems, including boilers, compressors, HVAC (ammonia / freon), and refrigeration units.
Oversee work order documentation, parts inventory, and equipment maintenance records.
Enforce and model safe work practices, including Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) and confined space procedures.
Collaborate with other departments to prioritize maintenance needs and production goals.
Ensure all work meets food safety, GMP, and OSHA standards.
Support facility upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
Required Qualifications 4+ years of hands‑on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food production facility.
Strong troubleshooting ability across multiple systems:
Electrical: 3-phase power, VFDs, motor controls, schematics
Mechanical: conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, chains, and belts
PLC Systems: Siemens and Allen–Bradley—reading ladder logic and performing program edits
Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Instrumentation systems
Boilers, compressors, and HVAC (ammonia / freon)
Ability to lead, train, and schedule maintenance personnel.
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred).
Ability to work 2nd shift and weekends / overtime as needed.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in food, beverage, or packaging manufacturing environments.
Completion of a recognized vocational or technical training program.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
Welding (MIG / TIG / stick) and fabrication experience.
Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration and industrial utility systems.
