Water Resources/ Hydrology & Hydraulics Team Lead position with Stantec. The opportunity focuses on developing high performing teams, executing strategic water resources projects, and growing Texas accounts. The role involves managing water resources studies and projects including H&H, stormwater and flood management, riverine floodplain modeling and mapping, green stormwater infrastructure, environmental/stream restoration, drainage and pump stations, and mentoring a team of water resources professionals. The ideal candidate has strong leadership and communication skills, technical experience in H&H (modeling and design), and a track record of leading and mentoring diverse teams. Your Opportunity

The Water business is growing in Texas, and this role emphasizes developing teams, executing projects, and growing Texas accounts. The position may support multiple Stantec offices. Your Key Responsibilities

Manage water resources, H&H, and stormwater/drainage projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams. Lead and manage project tasks, delegating to team members as appropriate. Provide supervision, training, technical direction, and mentoring to junior and intermediate staff and develop high-performing project teams. Oversee project delivery and quality for complex water projects across multiple sectors in Sr Project Manager, Sr Technical Leader, or Principal-in-Charge capacities. Provide technical review of deliverables such as H&H models, feasibility studies, and design packages. Prepare project deliverables and ensure projects meet needs in a timely and effective manner. Participate in marketing efforts and business development including relationship development, proposal preparation, and interviews. Contribute to branding and reputation of Stantec in Texas through leadership and involvement in industry organizations and societies. Contribute to growth of the Texas water resources team through talent recruitment, development, and mentoring. Develop and maintain a strong business culture aligned with corporate values and team needs. This position is part of a larger team with opportunities to support multiple Stantec offices. Ability to travel as needed to fill role responsibilities. Promote a strong culture of health and safety. Your Capabilities and Credentials

Significant experience in water resources projects with a focus on project delivery for flood risk management, drainage design, streambank restoration, stormwater management, regulatory compliance, green stormwater infrastructure, and nature-based solutions. Strong oral and written communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Leadership and team-building skills on complex projects with emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence. Excellent organizational, technical writing, and verbal communication skills. Experience executing water resources projects in a senior technical and/or management capacity. Ability to solve complex problems with sound judgment, creativity, and innovation. Ability to check work for accuracy, manage time to meet budget and schedule. Ability to collaborate in project teams and engage in creative and critical thinking. Effective relationship building with direct reports, peers, clients, and external stakeholders. Strong ethics, influence, negotiation, leadership, stress management, and commitment to continuous learning. United States Citizen or Permanent Resident. Preferred

Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling knowledge with tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), SWMM (1D/2D), InfoWorks ICM. Geospatial and design software such as ArcGIS, ArcPro, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience executing water resources projects in Texas. Experience supporting marketing and business development activities, proposals, client interviews, and contract negotiations. Strong business development skills with entrepreneurial orientation and client relationship development. Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred). Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Minimum of twelve (12) years (preferred 15+) of related work experience in water resource projects including flood modeling, flood control, river restoration and nature-based solutions, dams and levees, green infrastructure, and stormwater management.
