Job Description Position Title: Construction Project Administrator

Annual base pay: $70,200 to $113,400 DOE.

Job Summary The Construction Project Administrator (CPA) role is critical to ensuring outside plant (OSP) construction work is performed to industry standards and meets requirements for cost and engineering expectations. The CPA inspects the work of Ziply Fiber OSP contractors and guides contract inspectors to ensure all OSP work meets cost, timeline, and quality expectations for customers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Perform aerial and underground inspections, audits of contractors performing inspections, corrections, and foreign pole transfers in accordance with the NESC and Ziply Standards.

Assign and dispatch work to contract inspectors via email or through online database applications, and assist with resolving NESC or FPT complex issues.

Participate in the development, trials, and implementation of new processes, process documentation, web applications, and field software involving NESC inspections and corrections, and pole transfer work.

Conduct training of contract personnel in accepted aerial plant inspection and correction methods used by Ziply, as well as the associated field software applications.

Resolve issues arising during construction, such as bore‑throughs, tree trimming, and other complaints with citizens impacted by the fiber deployment.

Serve as a municipal liaison, working with various municipalities regarding permitting, traffic control, and other concerns related to OSP work.

Process invoices, work within project workflow databases to review and process vendor invoicing adhering to Ziply accounting guidelines.

Act as first‑level field approval for necessary changes found infield and partner with Engineering and vendor teams regarding potential solutions.

Support Ziply Fiber values by working with team members across Business, Consumer, Network Services, and various customer groups, including home builders, general contractors, and subcontractors.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

5+ years’ experience in OSP construction and/or OSP engineering.

College degree preferred but not required.

Familiarity with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; proficient with Microsoft Excel for developing forms, using internal and external hyperlinks, and functions such as COUNT, COUNTIF, SUBTOTAL, SUM.

Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Knowledge of NESC, OSP construction techniques, telecom industry OSP best practices, safe job site maintenance, and cost‑effective solutions for complex aerial cable problems.

Ability to collaborate with team members to assure timely, quality work and safe practices throughout labor and billing cycle.

Ability to learn Ziply construction unit coding for contract inspection role.

Desire and ability to continuously learn new systems and applications.

Intermediate understanding of the as‑built process for closing out OSP construction projects.

Basic understanding of the NJUNS database and joint use processes.

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong leadership, decision‑making, conflict resolution, customer service, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently, multi‑task, adapt to rapidly changing priorities, meet deadlines, and provide excellent service.

Work Authorization Applicants must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship not available.

Physical Requirements Requirements may include bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods. Driving up to 15% of the time, requiring safe operation of a motor vehicle.

Work Environment Primarily a modern office setting with exposure to computer screens, extensive use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi‑line telephone system.
