Asphalt Roller Operator

$35 -$40 per hour, DOE + Profit Sharing (additional $1-$5 per hour bonus possible) Overtime Available Paid travel to/from job-sites. The position includes maintaining and operating the asphalt roller. A good operator can help create a beautiful and durable asphalt surface that is a joy to behold at the end of the day. Safely and efficiently guiding the roller, distribute, break down, compress, and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt. REQUIREMENTS: 1 or more years’ experience operating an Asphalt Roller 1 or more years' experience of Asphalt Labor Dependable Comfortable using smartphone and other technology Work well in a team environment Able to participate in snow removal operations during the winter season Able to adhere to safety requirements & procedures in all actions PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Finish Grade Skills (in a skid steer) Mechanical or maintenance experience with asphalt equipment Class A CDL to be able to haul paving equipment Experience with snow removal Able to read and understand grade stakes, automated machine control, cab displays, etc. JOB DUTIES: Operate roller to compact earth, subgrade, and sub-base asphalt surfaces in the construction of parking lots and driveways Determine speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures Distribute, break down, compress, and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning and moving the machine in response to hand or audio signals from crew members Communicate with paving crew and foreman on job density requirements, material Consistently keep equipment clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency Raking, shoveling, sweeping as needed Properly follow & promote all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Participate in snow removal operations during the winter season Additional duties as assigned by management This position requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds to complete some tasks. This is a year-round position that participates in snow removal at all hours during the winter months. Work is done outdoors, so must dress for the conditions. Hours average around 50+ during the construction season with several opportunities for overtime.
