Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Relationship Manager
to join our banking team. Key Responsibilities
Oversee the commercial real estate portfolio, manage client relationships, and drive business growth through loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio management.
Perform underwriting and analysis, including financial assessments and due diligence for commercial real estate loan applications.
Manage a portfolio of commercial loan relationships, retain and expand relationships, and counsel loan customers on loan management opportunities.
Stay informed about local and national CRE market trends, property values, rental rates, and economic factors affecting the industry.
Monitor portfolio performance, identify risks, and implement credit and operational risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with leadership and management of the Bank’s lines of business related to loans and deposits, and assist in loan and deposit production activities.
Prepare and present detailed portfolio performance, market conditions, and business development reports to senior management.
Support regulatory compliance and represent the Bank to regulatory and supervisory agencies as required.
Oversee loan management activities, including updating financial data and ensuring timely loan repayments, and coordinate with CLO to assist Relationship Managers with large or complex CRE loans.
Engage with the community by representing the Bank at networking opportunities and local groups.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in lending, primarily Commercial Real Estate lending, with knowledge of bank policies and procedures for consumer, commercial, and mortgage lending.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of CRE markets, property valuation, financial analysis; excellent negotiation and relationship-building; proficiency in financial modeling and risk assessment tools; knowledge of banking regulations and compliance; exceptional communication and presentation skills; problem-solving and customer service skills; ability to work with all levels of staff; proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
Knowledge:
Accounting procedures, financial statement analysis, and credit decision processes; familiarity with credit extension tools.
Certifications:
Formal credit training, preferably in a commercial banking environment.
Attributes:
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Exertion/Physical Requirements
Repetitive motion: Frequent use of wrists, hands, and fingers; writing and computer work.
Speaking/Communication: Ability to convey detailed or complex instructions clearly.
Vision and Hearing: Normal visual acuity for documents and equipment operation; normal hearing for conversations and technical information.
Physical Strength: Sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, and up to 20 pounds of lifting.
What You’ll Do In This “A” Team Role
Portfolio Management:
Oversee CRE loan portfolio in line with credit policies, risk management standards, and regulatory requirements.
Loan Origination:
Develop new business by building relationships with CRE developers, investors, and property owners.
Underwriting and Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis, risk assessments, and due diligence for CRE loan applications; present beyond-department requests as needed.
Client Relationship Management:
Manage loan relationships, retain and expand services to meet client needs, and advise on loan management and opportunities.
Market Research:
Monitor local and national CRE market trends and conditions.
Risk Mitigation:
Monitor portfolio performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies; pursue ongoing education on banking rules and regulations.
Regulation and Compliance:
Support CLO and Chief Credit/Risk Officer with loan operations oversight, regulatory relations, and compliance; represent the Bank to regulatory agencies.
Reporting:
Prepare and present portfolio and business development reports to senior management.
Development:
Collaborate with CLO, RMs, and RBs on business development activities and marketing strategies.
Networking:
Represent the Bank in community activities and professional groups.
