General Purpose The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership team responsible for a specific area of the store as well as the general operations when acting as Manager on Duty. Duties include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and executing company operational processes.
Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
Practice and model safe behaviors; maintain high awareness on the sales floor.
Secure building entrances, receipt of deliveries, Cash Office, and register areas.
Remove clutter and maintain clear egress; test fire alarm systems.
Report unsafe conditions and participate in after‑hours alarm responses.
Customer Service
Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect and professionalism.
Recognize associates using the company recognition programs.
Personal and Store Brand
Represent and support the company brand and dress code.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and merchandising standards.
Handle daily trash removal and ensure associates follow dress code.
General Merchandising
Complete recovery, sizing, and markdowns to company standards.
Receive merchandise and other inbound deliveries.
Maintain stockroom cleanliness and organization.
Assist in floor moves, promotional signing, re‑wraps, and loss prevention.
Loss Prevention
Implement the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintain customer service presence.
Safeguard confidential, cash, and merchandise information.
Maintain PVM system and conduct "Code 50" package inspections.
Front‑End Supervision and Operations
Train and coach associates on cash registers, shortages, and front‑end procedures.
Control associate break schedules and ensure equipment functionality.
Maintain supplies, recovery, and security tag processes.
Teach the "Scan & Bag" best practice.
Fitting Rooms
Maintain cleanliness and audit garment tags.
Ensure go‑back compliance and ticketing of returned merchandise.
Administrative Duties
Perform cash pulls, deposits, refund approvals, and register controls.
Administer payroll, scheduling, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Fluency in English.
Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100 % of working time.
Regularly bend, squat, kneel, and lift over 25 lbs, or over 20 lbs for stockroom work.
Use janitorial and other equipment as required.
