Responsibilities

Provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.

Serve as the front-line manager to develop tax office associates, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives.

Act as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates, supporting their knowledge and skills development.

Lead daily team activities to ensure work is completed on time with attention to quality standards, priorities, and goals.

Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to execute Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.

Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.

Create and manage associate work schedules, ensuring accurate timekeeping and overtime management.

Prepare tax returns, as required.

Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.

Your Expertise

Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role.

Experience supervising or managing people.

Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course* (if preparing tax returns).

Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.

Computer proficiency with MS Office and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong customer-centric mindset, resilience, and the ability to work flexible schedules.

High school diploma or equivalent or higher.

What you’ll bring to the team

Partner with District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, develop local partnerships, and manage office community involvement.

Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.

Serve as point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure client scheduling and conflict resolution.

Lead daily activities to ensure tax office associates meet deadlines, maintain quality standards, and achieve goals.

Foster an engaging team environment through training and coaching on Service Standards and recognizing contributions.

Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to staff.

Ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management through scheduling.
