Reporting directly to a Juvenile Services Shift Supervisor, responsible for providing direct care and supervision to youth in pre- and post-adjudication facilities. Level I of II in Juvenile Supervision. Understands, practices, and promotes the vision of Williamson County Juvenile Services Supervises and redirects youth behavior using department trained intervention strategies Makes intentional effort to engage youth while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries Oversees the daily activities of residents including education, physical education, group activities, meals, chores, and visitation Performs duties necessary for the processing of intakes, admissions, and releases and completes all necessary paperwork Completes all necessary daily documentation, including youth behavior and progress reports Maintains a clean and safe working and living environment designated by the facility Readily complies with department, county and Texas Juvenile Justice Department policy and standards Consistently models positive behavior and leadership traits to youth Maintains regular and reliable attendance Communicates through the proper chain of command Attends all meetings and trainings as assigned Performs all other special duties as assigned ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

Position involves performing non-violent physical restraint Position involves operating motor vehicles Position involves using mechanical restraint devices (handcuffs and leg shackles) Position involves prolonged standing, sitting, walking, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, and squatting ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

Maximum security facility behind locked doors Continuous contact with youth accused of or adjudicated for various crimes Work is primarily conducted indoors in an air-conditioned building May be required to perform some work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, wet conditions) IRREGULAR HOURS

May occasionally serve on-call Requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and/or weekend hours Deemed essential personnel Essential personnel for emergency situations; discretion of department director The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job. High School Diploma or equivalent Be at least 21 years of age per Texas Administrative Code Section 344.200 Not have a disqualifying criminal history as defined in Texas Administrative Code Chapter 344 LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION

Required within thirty (30) days of employment: Valid driver's license Required within six (6) months of employment: Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) Juvenile Supervision Officer certification Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification First aid certification Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) trained PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of experience working with youth (i.e. teaching, counseling, coaching, mentoring, etc.) Bachelor's degree in a related field EMPLOYMENT TESTING
