General Purpose
The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Area Supervisors open and close the Store, supervise Associates, maintain a friendly and easy‑to‑shop environment, ensure proper merchandise presentation, and keep a clean work area at all times. They also execute and supervise company operational processes as needed. Essential Functions
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
Business safety is the number one priority and all actions reflect this. Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor and correct or report unsafe conditions immediately. Secure the building, including entrance/exit control and Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) device checks. Ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits. Address customer safety, accident prevention, reporting, and emergency procedures. Test all fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after‑hours alarms when requested. Customer Service
Treat all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect. Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. Recognize Associates using company recognition programs. Personal and Store Brand
Represent and support the company brand at all times. Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the company dress code. Ensure all Associates adhere to the dress code. Keep all areas of the Store clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard. General Merchandising
Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards. Receive merchandise truck when needed and process all merchandise with a sense of urgency. Manage non‑merchandise inbound deliveries and maintain cleanliness and organization of all stockrooms. Assist with floor moves, signing, and re‑wraps as needed. Loss Prevention
Maintain a strong loss prevention presence on the sales floor. Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise. Maintain the Public View Monitor (PVM) system and conduct “Code 50” package inspections. Front End Supervision and Operations
Ensure Associates work to company standards at the front end. Maintain pace, energy, and presence to expedite customer wait times. Train Associates on cash register procedures and shortage control policies. Control break schedules and ensure all equipment functions properly. Fitting Rooms
Maintain cleanliness of the fitting rooms. Ensure fitting room garment tags are audited and accounted for. Administrative Duties
Conduct cash pulls and bank deposits to company policy. Oversee front end control and compliance with refund, purchase, and cash handling procedures. Administer payroll tasks, including punch edits, scheduling compliance, and reporting. Competencies

Excellent verbal communication skills. Fluency in English. Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications. Basic mathematical calculations for retail. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements / ADA
Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC. Ability to spend up to 100 % of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store. Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs. Certain assignments may require additional physical requirements (e.g., ≥20 lbs for stockroom shifts). Supervisory Responsibilities
