Quality Control Inspector

2nd Shift

Metals USA is seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Control Inspector in Langhorne (Bucks County) PA. Hours: 1:30 pm -- 10:30 pm or as business needs determine.

Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon-steel (plate, beam, tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries.

The Quality Control Inspector provides quality control and assurance of products to ensure that they meet production standards. Recommends adjustments production process. Inspects, tests or measures materials or products being produced to meet specifications and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

Inspects customer work orders and fitness of product for shipment

Performs accurate physical inspections.

Performs accurate mechanical and physical inspections of incoming material, in-process parts and finished products

Uses testing equipment including calipers, micrometers and indicators for inspection.

Reports and tracks any deviations from quality standards and recommends corrective action to upper management.

Document inspection logs, reports, and customer records with inspection findings and results.

Communicates production personnel regarding quality issues

Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.

Adheres to Reliance Steel and Aluminum's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.

Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a quality control inspector.

Certifications/Licenses

Newport News/HII supplier delegated inspector certification preferred, willing to train

Electric Boat supplier delegated inspector certification preferred, willing to train

Physical Demands Occupation requires being sedentary less than or equal to 75% of the time Stand, walk, sit, hearing, talking, use of hands and fingers, hand-eye coordination, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bend.

Regularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions

Lift, carry, push and/or pull up to a maximum of 30 lbs. without assistance

Other Physical Requirements

Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)

Steel-toed boots

Hard hats with chin straps; chin straps must be worn at all times while on elevated surfaces

Protective eyewear

Hand protection

Arm guards/sleeves

Hearing protection if required by the hearing conservation program

Work Environment May be exposed to some of the following working conditions.

Environmental temperature changes hot & cold

Working inside and outside of the warehouse/office

Moderate to loud noise levels

Oils, dust, fumes and metallic particles

Day and night shifts

Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent

Basic mathematic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions

Must be organized with attention to detail

Ability to communicate orally & write effectively

Computer Literacy; Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Technical Communication

Proficient measuring skills and the ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers and calipers
