We are seeking a dedicated and experienced
Sr. Home Loan Officer - Business Development
to join our team in Ridgefield, WA, based out of our Vancouver, WA loan office. This position focuses on generating leads, building referral relationships, and originating first‑mortgage loans for credit union members.
Description Under the direction of the Production Manager/Team Leader – Business Development (BD), the Sr. Home Loan Officer – BD generates leads, develops and maintains referral relationships, and assists members with their mortgage lending needs. The role is responsible for analyzing loan requests and making credit decisions based on the mortgage lending policy, originating real‑estate first mortgage loans for the credit union’s portfolio or for sale on the secondary market for existing members and for new members obtained through business development efforts and outside sales, and projecting a professional image while maintaining confidentiality.
What You Will Be Doing
Meet monthly individual performance goals.
Make in‑person calls to real‑estate agents, builders, financial advisors, and other referral sources to develop borrower leads, spending significant time out in market selling loan products and generating leads.
Meet prospective clients at external locations as needed and attend open houses and industry events.
Perform the complete loan origination function, adhering to Credit Union policies and procedures, ensuring zero errors and compliance with regulations and loan standards.
Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co‑workers.
Demonstrate working knowledge of all mortgage products and rates, both within the Credit Union and the industry overall.
Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
Interview members for residential mortgage loans and clearly explain financing and mortgage programs and requirements.
Inform members of results of preliminary financial analysis and calculate loan estimates.
Monitor loan status; process loans in a timely manner; conduct BSA functions; attend training sessions, conferences and seminars; maintain awareness of policies and regulations.
Build positive relationships with real‑estate agents and community members to increase loan production, report concerns to supervisor, and display ethical integrity, risk control and confidentiality.
About You
Ability to multi‑task on numerous projects simultaneously.
Effective written, verbal and telephone communication skills.
Quality decision making with extreme attention to detail.
Work with minimal supervision and promote a productive work environment.
Qualifications
Three to five years of similar or related experience; mortgage lending experience desired.
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of specialized course of study, training or experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance is preferred but not required.
Valid NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator Identification (MLO) Number.
Extensive knowledge of conforming and non‑conforming loans as defined by the secondary market.
Experience with Desktop Underwriting or other lending‑specific software.
Experience in new business development through calling on the real‑estate community and membership in professional organizations, with a proven outside sales track record.
Experience in loan origination consistent with FNMA guidelines, FHA and VA loan originations.
Proficiency with standard office equipment, lending software, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Independent travel required to achieve training and business objectives.
A valid driver’s license is required.

Full Salary Range $45,760.00 - $350,000.00 (Base/Commission)
