Transportation Engineering Associate I - (61035120) RE-ADVERTISEMENT
Transportation Engineering Associate I – South Carolina Department of Transportation – Aiken County, SC.
Job Responsibilities Manages/coordinates the permit process within Aiken County. Reviews encroachment permit applications for compliance with standards for Aiken Maintenance. Monitors the Encroachment Permit Processing System (EPPS) for new submittals of permits and supporting documentation, ensuring completeness of submittals and maintaining records for timely review. Supervises and gives guidance to Transportation Engineering Technician I in performing inspections for encroachment permit work. Attends final inspections at completion of construction projects relating to encroachment permits. Provides support personnel during inclement weather events. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. This position may require travel. This position may require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. This position requires driving and walking for extended periods, traversing rough and uneven terrain, working in close proximity to motor traffic, and natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. This position may be exposed to outside environment in all weather conditions and noise.
